Tim was born in Sheffield in 1955 and he studied at Edinburgh College of Art, graduating in 1978. He won the Elizabeth Greenshield Foundation award, which enabled him to spend a year in Italy, painting in Umbria and Tuscany.
Today his paintings are about contemporary life and capturing the rituals of daily life. He always has a sketchbook to hand and can be found recording the moment. These pencil drawing them become small works in oil, on card or paper. On occasions such a painting might become a larger piece.
He has exhibited widely in galleries throughout Scotland and his work is represented in many corporate and public collections including HM the Queen. Edinburgh University, Fife Council, Art in Hospitals and The Royal Bank of Scotland. He also has numerous works in private collections throughout the world.
