An exhibition of 58 new works in both oil and watercolour by two highly sought after painters will take place at Island Fine Arts in Bembridge from 2nd to 31st May. This is the first time both painters will have exhibited together on the Isle of Wight. Both Trevor and Bert will be at the gallery to welcome visitors to the opening (Wednesday, 2nd May) of this exciting exhibition.
Trevor Chamberlain was born in Hertford and worked as an architectural assistant until 1964. He is a self-taught artist who has won many awards for his marine, landscape and town paintings. His work is highly regarded, as he puts great feeling into each precisely judged brushstroke, thereby creating a perfect appraisal of form and light.
Trevor has travelled widely painting many parts of the world. His popularity with collectors has brought him great success through his many mixed one-man shows. His work has been published in a number of books and can be seen in many public and private collections including Taylor Woodrow, Marks and Spencer, NatWest Bank, Avon Insurance, Guildhall Art Gallery, National Maritime Museum, Government Art Collection, Winsor & Newton and Hertford Museum.

Bert Wright was born in 1930 and studied at Nottingham College of Art. His early years were mainly architectural paintings, a number of which were hung in The Royal Academy. Following a period of managing a studio of illustrators, designers and photographers, he moved into the field of television eventually becoming General Manager of the Scenery Group at the BBC.

He returned to paint full-time in 1980, and since then has enjoyed great success working in both watercolour and oil. Bert's career has taken him to many parts of the world, including the United States of America which show his work on a regular basis.

Bert is a Past President of the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Wapping Group. He is also a member of the Chelsea Art Group and has been Governor of the Federation of British Artists.
