2.2.2012: An exciting exhibition of small oils by Tim Benson, ROI starts at Island Fine Arts on Saturday, 3th March. This exhibition draws on Tim's recent trips to Morocco as well as further visits to his beloved East Anglia. Complementing his landscapes are a number of nudes and portraits. Tim says: 'I approach every painting in the same way; I see no distinction between landscapes and figurative work as both are comprised of light, dark and colour. All of which, if applied precisely will create a convincing image.' His recent paintings have taken on a slightly more abstract form compared to older works although they are still quite recognisably representative. Tim adds: 'I am constantly trying to push my boundaries in painting and the area between representation and abstraction is something that inspires me.' The show goes on until 31st March and they all the paintings are for sale and can be viewed online here from 27 February.
