Robert Kelsey was born in Glasgow in 1949 and studied at Glasgow School of Art between 1966 and 1970. During this time he studied painting and drawing under David Donalson, James Robertson and Alexander Goudie. He graduated in 1970 with a DA.
Following a period teaching art he turned professional in 1995.Over the last twenty years he has travelled widely capturing the beauty of the locations set before him. His passion for light is evident in every painting, be it a beach on the west coast of Scotland, a Venetian scene or a London view. His ability to interpret what he sees in front of him with honesty and integrity has gained him many corporate and private buyers including, The Fleming Collection, Cairn Energy PLC, Highland Spring Water, Taylor Woodrow, Scottish Friendly Assurance, Arisaig Partners (Asia) Ltd, Turnberry Hotel and Credit Lyonnais Bank to name a few.
Robert exhibits with a small number of very well-known galleries and his work makes up part of the collection in the Paisley Art Gallery and Museum.
