Michael Alford was born in 1958 and was encouraged at an early age to draw by his father. After university he studied at the Slade School and Chelsea School of Art. His body of work is varied, reflecting his interests in many aspects of life. From masterful cityscapes of contemporary urban centres, such as London, New York and Barcelona, to paintings and drawings of the human figure, each work illustrates a combination of fine draughtsmanship, acute observation and sense of drama.
Michael exhibits with many well-known galleries in the UK, besides showing in Europe and the United States of America. He has won a number of art prizes including Green and Stone Oil Painting Prize, the Agnes Reeve Memorial Prize for best painting of London, and the Prima Luce Mural prize and his work makes up part of many private and corporate collections including Trust House Forte and the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia
