Salliann Putman RWS.
Back to thumbnails. Salliann Putman is known for her paintings of still life and interiors. She is interested in the qualities of colour, light and space, and their relationship with each other as she is in the actual subject matter. Though the painting often begins with a quick drawing capturing the painter’s immediate reaction to the subject, it is her emotional response to the paint coupled with her imagination and memory that is all-important.
Salliann studied fine art at West Surrey College of Art and Design, Farnham. She has exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Watercolour Society Open Exhibitions, the New English Art Club, the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours. She has had several one and two-man shows and has won a number of awards including the Royal Watercolour Society Award and the Chris Beetles Award. Her paintings hang in many private collections both in the UK and abroad.
