Cavendish Morton is a master of colour and light. He was born in Edinburgh in 1911. His skill and technical ability to interpret his surroundings in both oil and watercolour demonstrates an understanding of nature that comes only with years of practice. He has exhibited at the RA on numerous occasions, and still exhibits at the RI annually. It is hardly surprising that his passion for sunlight so finely executed in his landscapes, marine and beach scenes captures a magical sensation that has brought about a great following for his work.
His pictures hang in many major public and private collections including, The British Museum, Glasgow Museum, Norwich Castle Museum and the Contemporary Art Society.
