Christie was born in the British Virgin Islands in 1970 and studied at The School of Museum of Fine Arts, Boston U.S. She moved to London to study History of Art, where she later worked as a muralist and set-painter. Now based on the Isle of Wight she spends her days painting still life.

Working in acrylic, she applies thin layers over a gesso base. From an idea she will sometimes work up a watercolour sketch of her thoughts. Each work tells a story, as the items selected in each composition carry significances for Christie in her journey as a painter.

She has exhibited regularly in London since 2003, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition ’08 and finds great inspiration in the works of Ben Nicholson, Elizabeth Blackadder, Mary Fedden and Milton Avery.
