Martyn Mackrill to show on the Island for the first time in twenty year

This will be the first time new works by Martyn Mackrill will have been seen in an exhibition for over twenty years on the Island, as his painting are usually exhibited at one of the leading galleries in London. Besides the wonderful evocative canvases of classic ocean racing yachts, Martyn has also produced a number of paintings depicting various parts of the Island. Tennyson Down, Freshwater Bay and St. Helens Quay are some of the locations he visited when he was painting for the show. All the local scenes were painted “en-plein air,” and sometimes working on location in very strong winds to capture the drama of the situation before him. Martyn, will be showing alongside Jo Bemis, who is highly sought after for her works of the coastline around the Island and Cornwall. Another first in this exhibition , will be thirteen stunning works by Scottish painter, Walter Awlson. Walter work is centred around figurative painting. Observation is the foundation to his work. It is only by taking careful note of the body that he is able to allow the viewer to share the moment with him. Working in oil, his paintings of the female form demonstrate an understanding of the skeleton, muscle composition, skin tone and the ageing process. Twenty Years of the Ferrari F355

It's twenty years since Ferrari launched the F355, and to celebrate this anniversary we are publishing on Monday, 17th February a very special limited edition print by Dexter Brown, one of the leading automotive painters working today. As with all of Dexter's work, this print captures with feeling the passion and energy that Ferrari put into building each of its beautiful cars. There will only be 20 copies available, each one signed and numbered by Dexter Brown and three artist proofs. They will be printed on 310gsm fine art paper, measuring 18x24 inches with the paper size being 20x26 inches. 50 YEARS OF AN ICON THE PORSCHE 911 BY DEXTER BROWN

April 2013 to January 1970

2013 is a very special year in the history of the Porsche 911. The car was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, 1963. 2013 is the 50th Anniversary of the 911 and to mark this event, Dexter Brown is painting a very special picture called "50 Years of an Icon : The Porsche 911". Measuring 40x60 inches, the painting will feature a Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Lightweight racing at the 1973 Targa Florio. Planning is underway for a short tour consisting of four or five locations starting in early June where this painting will be on show for the general public to view. Full details will appear on our home page over the next few weeks and in the July issue of Porsche Post. The painting will be priced at £8500. There will be a limited edition print available of the painting. Only 25 copies and 5 Artist Proofs will be produced. Further details to follow. Dexter Brown was born in Middlesex in 1942. He studied at Harrow School of Art and worked briefly in a London design studio prior to turning professional. He is highly regarded as one of the leading automotive painters living today, although his subject matter also encompasses wildlife, street scenes and figure studies. Dexter works in most mediums communicating the passion, heat and speed of the moment. Each work demonstrates his ability to interpret light and the intensity of what he sees in front of him in a rich canvas of colour. Dexter’s work has been featured in many periodicals including Ferrari World, Autosport and Car Collector. He has exhibited worldwide and his paintings make up many private collections. Recent acquisition

March 2013

We have recently a acquired charming small oil by Ken Howard depicting the Lagoon in Venice. The painting captures the evening light and allows the viewer to become part of the scene.
