Each brush stroke interprets with feeling the athleticism and agility that epitomises the purity of design that is inherent in this great icon. The painting will be on show at a small number of locations over the summer months and is available for sale at £8,500. 50 YEARS OF AN ICON THE PORSCHE 911 BY DEXTER BROWN

2013 is a very special year in the history of the Porsche 911. The car was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, 1963. 2013 is the 50th Anniversary of the 911 and to mark this event, Dexter Brown is painting a very special picture called "50 Years of an Icon : The Porsche 911". Measuring 40x60 inches, the painting will feature a Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Lightweight racing at the 1973 Targa Florio. Planning is underway for a short tour consisting of four or five locations starting in early June where this painting will be on show for the general public to view. Full details will appear on our home page over the next few weeks and in the July issue of Porsche Post. The painting will be priced at £8500. There will be a limited edition print available of the painting. Only 25 copies and 5 Artist Proofs will be produced. Further details to follow. Dexter Brown was born in Middlesex in 1942. He studied at Harrow School of Art and worked briefly in a London design studio prior to turning professional. He is highly regarded as one of the leading automotive painters living today, although his subject matter also encompasses wildlife, street scenes and figure studies. Dexter works in most mediums communicating the passion, heat and speed of the moment. Each work demonstrates his ability to interpret light and the intensity of what he sees in front of him in a rich canvas of colour. Dexters work has been featured in many periodicals including Ferrari World, Autosport and Car Collector. He has exhibited worldwide and his paintings make up many private collections. We have recently a acquired charming small oil by Ken Howard depicting the Lagoon in Venice. The painting captures the evening light and allows the viewer to become part of the scene.
