Modern British Painters

Paul Robinson

Paul Robinson was born in Penrith, Cumbria in 1959, and later studied Fine Art at Carlisle College of Art. After moving to London he began a successful career as a freelance illustrator, working for many leading publications such as the Sunday Times and Radio Times, whilst exhibiting his paintings at a well-known London gallery.

Returning full time to painting, he developed his distinct style, inspired by an endless fascination with his London subjects and architecture. Having moved to Norfolk in 1999, he now has a whole new world to explore; in contrast to the City with it’s high rise office blocks to the Norfolk landscape consisting of an immeasurable expanse of sea and sky. But with not a city worker in sight, he has now turned his attention to the subjects on his door-step to fuel his imagination.

His work is included in private, corporate and public collections worldwide. He exhibits regularly in London and Norfolk, and was delighted to have been included in Norwich’s Castle Museum first Open Contemporary Norfolk Landscape exhibition in 2005 and again in 2008.
